I’ve had bouts with recurring back pain for years. I ruptured the L4/L5 disc ,and was referred to a physical therapist, and eventually to a neurosurgeon. Unfortunately, after back surgery, I returned to many of my pre-surgery bad habits of lifting more than I should, twisting in the wrong ways, and neglecting to implement strengthening exercises to my daily routine.
My lifestyle and work schedule alternate constantly. I am either on the move or spend days to weeks sitting at my computer, finishing projects. This inconsistency in activity and exercise has resulted in continued damage to my back. A few years later, I herniated the L4/L5 disc again.
This time, my family physician referred me to SpineCare. This was the best move she could have made! Through their clear instruction, explanation and evaluation, they not only pin-pointed the problems; they explained things to me in a way that I could understand. I left each appointment with clarity about why they used certain evaluation techniques, and how this would help in diagnosing the problem. They never hesitated to answer my questions, and were available by phone when needed. The entire staff at SpineCare interacted with me in a positive manner, and their compassion as I hobbled into the office was comforting. In the midst of a terrible season of pain, the friends I made at the office were certainly a bright spot!
Once it was determined that the disc injury needed further imaging, I was quickly referred for an MRI, and then back to my neurosurgeon for evaluation. Less than a month later, I had the second surgery and was on my way to recovery, this time under SpineCare’s guidance. SpineCare gave me the tools, knowledge, and encouragement to better understand the critical need for strengthening and preventative care. I now have new exercises and stretching regimens that will help protect me from re-injury. Through this experience, I know how to keep away from the danger zones of back pain. Thank you SpineCare!

- Davis and his staff suffering from a twisted lower back. (now that is technical) My job requires me to do a lot of bending and lifting and i was worried. But the first adjustment was right on target and it provided immediate relief. Before i even saw the doctor, i was feeling better because they put me on a machine that warmed up my back and limbered me up so by the time Dr. Magic Hands got hold of me, i was already getting better. And with a few simple and painless procedures the pain i was feeling went away. I went back a few more times until everything seemed to be as it should be. Spine Care is great, recommend them to everyone. -John
- out about Spine Care, at least i can grow older with a little more grace. Thanks to the staff and Doctors at the Madison Office, i no longer have to wait out a few aches and pains i get chasing my grand daughter. Thanks Guys...great job.-Alice
- in my neck and back, my GP sent me to a neurosurgeon. What a nightmare! He wanted to “try” this and then “try” that. He prescribed multiple medications. When I finally said I wasn't going to have any more tests that may provide him with better information, I was told there was nothing he could do for me. That would have been fine but the pain became so severe I could hardly make it through the day. Then I went to Dr. Houssain. He pinpointed the problem area and began a program of treatment – NO drugs. After the first treatment I felt better; after a few more treatments I was just amazed at how much better I felt. I am impressed with the approach, the staff and the results. I would recommend Dr. Houssain without hesitation! -Sandra
-Best place ever for chiropractic care and spine care! Recommend Spinecare highly. - Betty Hopper
-Love, Love, LOVE Dr. Robinson!!! Thanks to him I can walk without pain in my hips and back ... He is amazing!!! ~S~
-Dr. Robinson is by far one of the most personable yet professional doctors I have met in my lifetime. He truly listens to what you are saying whether it be about your treatment or even about random topics. Thank you for making the experience such a pleasant one! - Mahdi S.
-Dr. Caine has helped tremendously in getting me well on my way to curing my frozen shoulder....thanks so much!!
-Dr. Houssain for chiropractic care and Kelly for therapeutic massage = AWESOME!! ...and the staff is great also ;-)
-A BIG SHOUT OUT to Dr. Caine and the SpineCare staff! You have been SO wonderful to me and I love the therapy I am getting! I was skeptical that it was just going to be the routine neck and back popping and that was it, but Spine care is much, much more and not like that at all. It's more of a rehab clinic, specifically customized to your diagnosis. My frozen shoulder is now on the mend thanks to their caring and expertise!! Again, thank you!! - Rebecca T.
-Dr. Stewart is FANTASTIC!!! She really listens, and takes great care of her patients. - Monica W.
-Went for my first visit with Dr. Stewart at SpineCare in Madison and thought it went very well. Stopped going to my old Chiropractor last year because I was not having good outcomes so I got a referral from a friend who goes to SpineCare. So far so good and I like the way they approach treatment. Looking forward to my appointment next week and feeling like I can move again. -Jo Ann
- Davis at SpineCare after having some Migraine headaches. I was to the point i could hardly hold my head up right but after the first visit i got a little relief and with every subsequent visit my overall situation improved again and again. I was treated with respect and dignity, the staff was terrific and my one o'clock appointment was on time, every time. Wonderful to go see a professional who values your time as much as he values his. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!- Thomas
-Dr. Caine, I ran the 10k CRR course with NO left leg pain! Yippee! See you on Wednesday! :-)
-I LOVE SPINECARE!! I had a shoulder injury and was sent to physical therapy and after 18 visits (9 weeks) I had one shoulder that healed and one that became injured and didn't respond to treatment. Not to mention how sore my neck has been for probably 2+ years. So I took it upon myself to call Spinecare and schedule an appointment with Dr. Houssain...I'm glad I did. I saw him for treatment three times a week for the first 2 weeks, then twice a week for 2 weeks, and followed his exercise prescription (no weight-bearing activities and only the exercises he showed me - adding only 1 exercise per visit) and I have been allowed to return to my regular exercises as long as I pull back by about 25%. I have no shoulder pain or neck pain - life is good!! - Mom 2 twins
-Highly Recommended. I hurt my lower back and suffered with the pain for some time. After a few visits with Dr. Houssain, I could quickly tell I was healing faster than ever before (days to a few weeks instead of several weeks to months) and the pain/discomfort was much more manageable. After our first session, Dr. Houssain "prescribed" nothing more that, 3 simple core exercises that I was supposed to do daily. As my pain went away and my back got stronger, he switched up the exercises, each one progressively making the core stronger and therefore I was not working my back in ways that it is not designed to work. We talked and he understood that I wanted to understand why those exercises specifically were making a big difference. I appreciate that he gave a more than reasonable technical explanation of the body mechanics and the reason injuries arise, and the reasoning for the treatments. Fortunately, I have not had to go back to see him for several months - if I ever feel weak or a 'twinge' in my back, I just go back to ... and suffered with the pain for some time. Although I am sure that he would love to have me as a return patient, I think he is he is glad to not see me in his office. Instead, I refer my friends and neighbors. Oh, one more thing - other than getting some BioFreeze from their office (I asked for it, I love that stuff, works great), I was not asked to nor did I buy any supplements or any kind. I cannot speak for everyone, but this was my experience. I figure he would have said something if he thought I could benefit from them. Hope this was helpful and Thanks to Spinecare. I have not had treatments from the other doctors there, but I am sure they all provide similar levels of care and really want to see their patients get better and live pain free . - S.K. Patel
-I have been very pleased with both the treatment and the staff at spinecare. I wouldn't think twice about recommend spinecare and doctor Houssain to any one with neck or back pain.
-Dr. Stewart is amazing. I have seen a few chiropractors over the years, but I have never felt as good as I do right now while being treated by Dr. Stewart. The great thing is that she doesn't just adjust you, she educates you on your pain issues to help eliminate them. Every time I leave I find out something new about my body! She is truly awesome! If you're waiting to see a chiropractor because you're not sure if it will help, go see the doctors at SpineCare! I was hesitant at first but they treated me with such care and respect to my problems and needs that I wish I had gone sooner. Dr. Caine is wonderful as he truly listens and then decides your best course of treatment. I was able to complete my 1st half-marathon without any IT band problems because of their help!! - Eagle Eye 19
-Dr. Robinson is an excellent Doctor for rehabilitating old sports-type injuries. Explains the possible problem, sets out a plan and gets the job done. Good bedside manner. The staff is excellent. The Spine care center in general I believe focuses on performance type injuries. They have 2 locations, Huntsville and Madison. I have not yet been to the Madison location. I was skeptical of the chiropractor profession in general before my GP sent me there.
Dr. Robinson is very knowledgeable and professional. He spends time educating his patients on how to heal and avoid injuries. He has a great personality and is very easy to talk to.
